The region is adorned with colossal glaciers such as Malangudhi, Yazghail, Khurdopin (5,800 m), Braldu, Odver, and Ver Zharav, while featuring prominent passes like Chafchingoal, Khurdopin, Mai Dur, Braldu, and Boi Sam.

As the largest village in the Hunza Valley, Shimshal boasts vast pasturelands, including Shimshal Pamir, Gujerav, Yazghail, and Loopghar, offering visitors a glimpse into the serene beauty of the region.   • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
  • Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, comfortable clothes and hiking or tennis shoes.

  • The tour start at 5:30am but the pickup times will be between 4am and 5:30am
  • Guide medium language (English – Urdu – Area Local)
  • A moderate amount of walking is involved at both attractions.

What To Expect

Day 1: Arrive in Islamabad and Rest

Arrival in Islamabad (585m/1,920ft):Arrive in Pakistan’s vibrant capital. Visit the iconic Faisal Mosque, explore bustling Rawalpindi bazaars, and enjoy a warm welcome dinner. Overnight in Islamabad.

Day 2

Drive Islamabad to Chilas (1,250m/4,101ft): Travel along the legendary Karakoram Highway, surrounded by dramatic landscapes of rivers, valleys, and mountains. Overnight stay in Chilas.

Day 3

Drive Chilas to Karimabad (2,400m/7,874ft): Continue along the Karakoram Highway to Karimabad, the cultural heart of Hunza Valley. Enjoy the stunning views of Rakaposhi and explore the local bazaar. Overnight stay in Karimabad.

Day 4

Drive Karimabad to Shimshal (3,000m/9,842ft): Venture to Shimshal, one of the most remote villages in the Karakoram. Experience unique cultural traditions and hospitality. Overnight in Shimshal.

Day 5

Trek Shimshal to Zardgarben (3,600m/11,811ft): Begin your trek through lush alpine pastures and mountain trails. Camp overnight at Zardgarben.

Day 6

Trek Zardgarben to Jafervask (3,900m/12,795ft): Trek through rugged landscapes with panoramic views of towering peaks. Overnight camping in Jafervask.

Day 7

Trek Jafervask to Perchodwashk (4,200m/13,780ft): Ascend into high-altitude terrain with stunning snow-capped peaks. Camp overnight at Perchodwashk.

Day 8

Trek Perchodwashk to War-e-Ben (4,400m/14,436ft): Enter remote wilderness with a serene and solitary atmosphere. Overnight camping in War-e-Ben.

Day 9

Trek War-e-Ben to Chafchingol Base Camp (4,600m/15,092ft): Undertake a challenging ascent to the base camp. Enjoy views of glaciers and towering peaks. Overnight at Chafchingol Base Camp.

Day 10

Trek Chafchingol Pass (4,900m/16,076ft) to Koksil River (3,800m/12,467ft): Cross the stunning Chafchingol Pass, a high-altitude challenge, and descend to the Koksil River. Overnight camping.

Day 11

Trek Koksil River to Aurbab Peryain (3,500m/11,483ft): Trek through scenic landscapes, meeting traditional shepherds along the way. Overnight camping at Aurbab Peryain.

Day 12

Drive Shimshal to Karimabad (2,400m/7,874ft): Return to Karimabad. Relax and explore local attractions such as Baltit Fort or Altit Fort. Overnight in Karimabad.

Drive Karimabad to Naran (2,400m/7,874ft): Travel through the scenic Kaghan Valley with stops at Babusar Pass and Lulusar Lake. Overnight in Naran.

Day 14

Drive Naran to Islamabad (585m/1,920ft): Return to Islamabad. Celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner. Overnight in Islamabad.
