Overview

Hunza Patundas Trek Overview

Patundas, nestled in the upper Hunza region between the Batura and Passu glaciers at an altitude of 4170m, offers a climb of 1500m from the moraine of Passu glaciers. Surrounded by towering peaks such as Shisper 7619m, Passu Peak 7388m, Baltar Peak 7431m, Batura 7885m, Karoon Koh 7458m, Dastagil SAR, and numerous other 6000m peaks, it provides a breathtaking panorama. The trek commences from Borit Lake, leading through Passugar and Luzdur, traversing summer pastures and stunning high meadows adorned with limestone formations.

This trek is ideal for short walks of one to five days or longer treks of up to ten days. A round trip starting at Borith Lake and concluding at Batura near Passu is particularly rewarding. While most of the trek are easy, with wildflowers and expansive summer pastures, the glacier crossing presents the only challenging segment. Trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of Batura 7785m, Passu 7284m, and Shisper Peak 7611m. Along the way, you’ll encounter friendly Wakhi people tending to their cattle in summer pastures, who often offer yogurt, buttermilk, and fresh milk to visitors.
