Batura Glacier Trek
Mountain Trails, Open Skies & Nights Under Canvas
Discover a peaceful part of Upper Hunza by walking through landscapes of glaciers, summer meadows, and isolated mountain campsites.
The trek follows paths used by shepherds and travels alongside the Batura Glacier, showing a dramatic contrast between ice, lush green fields, and the towering peaks of the Karakoram range.
For those who love mountains, the views are always changing.
The Batura massif looms above the valley, and from Fatimahil, you can see a striking view of its northern side. The trail is also decorated with seasonal wildflowers, and you’ll come across traditional summer villages that offer a glimpse into life in the mountains.
Camping is a key part of the experience.
Each morning you’ll wake up to stunning mountain views, spend your days exploring on foot, and return to your camp as the evening light highlights the peaks. It’s an opportunity to step away from daily life and get closer to nature.
The standard Batura trek does not require technical climbing, but it is more than just a leisurely walk.
The journey involves long days of walking, uneven ground, and crossings over glaciers, so good fitness, appropriate gear, and the guidance of experienced local leaders are important. The route and pace should be planned based on your experience level and the conditions of the season.
